Priolo Augusta, located in South-East Sicily (Italy), is one the largest petrochemical complexes in Italy supplying one fifth of the total national fuel demand. The electrolyser plant, developed in partnership with Swiss utility AXPO, will have an initial capacity of 100 MW – making it the largest electrolyser in Italy by far , and one of the biggest in Europe – and require more than 200 million EUR of investment. It will supply green hydrogen to the ISAB refinery, the largest in the area under a long term supply agreement.
